Changing covering extension

(who your calls go to if the caller presses 0 when getting your voicemail)

This guide provides the instructions on how to add/change a covering extension to your phone

  1. Open a web browser
  2. Navigate to the Avaya User Preferences webpage with the following link:

*You may encounter a webpage warning you of a potential risk

                  Advance to the webpage, by clicking “Advanced…”

   Then click one of the following depending on your browser:

  • Firefox: “Accept the Risk and Continue”
  • Chrome: “Proceed to aam.atlantic.edu”
  • Edge: “Go on to the website”
  1. Type in your credentials
    1. Mailbox number:              Your personal extension
    2. Messaging Password:      Your mailbox password
  2. Click “Log In”

*Once loaded you should be looking at the general user preferences page

  1. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and find the bolded “Attendant” section
  2. Select the radio button labeled “Personal attendant/assistant”
  3. In the text box next to the radio button, type in your covering extension (ex: 1234)
  4. Click “Save” at the bottom of the page
